Design Project Process
i. Preliminary Design – The preliminary design is initiated upon acceptance of a written agreement based upon the actual scope of services to be provided by designer. The design will include drawing of proposed structural and architectural modifications, custom built-ins and furniture plans, as well as, the specification of decorative details and furnishing for approval.
ii. Final Design – Final design will be prepared incorporating all noted changes and specifications of approved preliminary changes.
iii. Construction/Project Implementation – Simultaneous with development of final designs, the designer will begin preparing preliminary cost estimates, details and specifications required to begin the work.
iv. Purchasing – Upon client approval of specification and cost estimates, the designer places orders to vendors for furnishing and contractors for any construction work. A status report is used to keep the client updated on the progress of the job.
v. Installation/Project Supervision – Throughout installation the designer will maintain the supervision of the project as required. A punch list will be maintained until all items are satisfactorily completed.
